Google’s Android powered devices have a lot of features which help the users get a lot of information on the go. Google now is one such feature which provides information about traffic, weather etc. Desktop users would have to Google out such information which they need to know until now. But thanks to the latest Chrome update from Google, this feature is available for desktop computers as well.

The post on a Google blog had mentioned how we can actually access Google now on the Chrome browser. This can be done by moving your mouse pointer to chrome://flags/#enable-google-now ad selecting Enabled option. Google now monitors your web searches and understands you like a friend. It allows you to add your preferences and based on those settings it gives you updates time and again. Though Google now has not got as popular in the Apple’s Siri, it is still gaining popularity among the smaller crowd. Google now acts like your personal assistant always available at your finger tips with information on weather updates, sports news, stock information, traffic updates from waze and a lot more that a normal person needs to know. It also reminds you of birthdays of people in your contact list and also pops up the important events you note down in your calendar so that you don’t miss out on all the important things in your life. It also helps you by giving you bus timings from your location to any desired location so that any person who is new in a place is not lost and confused when it comes to commuting to different places. It will let you know in before you start from home regarding the traffic in all the possible routes to your destination so that you can decide which route is least affected by traffic and decide the route in advance. With the heavy increase in traffic now-a-days, isn’t that a really cool feature? Last but not the least, it also helps you with news updates about your favourite sports team, about the stocks that you have invested in and all other little things that interest you.

Google has been working towards integrating the android powered devices and desktops from a long time and this has been their latest step. Earlier, Google brought in the voice search option for desktops and the OK Google command which tried to simulate the Siri functionality. With this latest release from Google, it is advancing more and more towards its goal of meeting both android users’ and desktop users’ expectations.

We are expecting that Google’s next step in this venture would be to bring forth the apps and games available to android users into desktop computers as well. The apps can help people do the same kind of things they would on their phones and have the same enriching experience. This way, people can gain better viewing of the apps on the large desktop screens and, at the same time, save battery on their phones as well!
